Product Description

The Low-Carbon Stainless Steel Pipe is specifically designed for welding applications where resistance to intergranular corrosion is critical. With a maximum carbon content of 0.03% (compared to 0.08% in standard grades), this pipe minimizes the formation of chromium carbides during welding, preventing sensitization and preserving corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zone (HAZ). Manufactured as seamless or welded and subsequently annealed, it offers excellent weldability, consistent mechanical properties, and long-term reliability in corrosive service.

Weldability Characteristics
Property Low-Carbon Grades (304L / 316L / 317L)
Sensitization Risk Very low – minimal chromium carbide precipitation
Post-Weld Heat Treatment Not required for most corrosive services
Recommended Welding Processes GTAW (TIG), SMAW (stick), GMAW (MIG), SAW
Filler Metal Recommendation Matching L-grade or lower carbon filler (e.g., ER308L / ER316L)
Heat-Affected Zone (HAZ) Integrity Excellent – retains corrosion resistance
Thin Wall Welding Excellent – low risk of burn-through and distortion
Key Features for Welding Applications

Precision cold rolled stainless steel strip is a narrow, thin-gauge stainless steel product manufactured to significantly tighter thickness and width tolerances than standard cold-rolled sheet. Unlike standard sheet (typically 1000mm or 1219mm wide), precision strip is produced in narrow widths — usually less than 600mm — and thin gauges from 0.05mm up to 3.0mm. The key differentiator is the tolerance : the precision strip holds thickness variations to as low as ±0.005mm,
