Product Introduction

ASTM A240 321 and 321H hot rolled stainless steel plates are titanium-stabilized austenitic grades designed for service in the carbide precipitation temperature range of 425-815°C (800-1500°F). The titanium addition (5*C minimum) preferentially combines with carbon, preventing chromium carbide formation at grain boundaries and eliminating intergranular corrosion susceptibility after welding or prolonged thermal exposure.

321H (UNS S32109), with higher carbon content (0.04-0.10%), provides enhanced elevated temperature strength and creep resistance for applications above 540°C. Available in No.1 finish, these plates are ideal for high-temperature pressure vessels, expansion joints, and refinery equipment where post-weld heat treatment is impractical.
