With yield strength approximately twice that of standard 304/316 austenitic grades, Duplex 2205 enables significant weight reduction in structural designs without compromising safety margins. The high chromium (22%), molybdenum (3%), and nitrogen (0.18%) content provides superior resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion, making it an essential material for critical offshore and subsea applications.
