Product Description

316 stainless steel square tube is a hollow structural section with four equal sides. Grade 316 contains molybdenum, which provides superior corrosion resistance against chlorides, salt water, and harsh chemicals.

Our 316 square tubes are ideal for marine, coastal, and chemical processing applications where standard 304 stainless steel may not perform adequately. Both welded and seamless options are available.

316 vs 304 Comparison
Environment Grade 304 Grade 316
Fresh water Good Excellent
Coastal / Splash zone Moderate (may stain) Excellent
Salt water immersion Not recommended Recommended
Chloride exposure Poor Good
Chemical exposure Moderate Excellent
Welded structures Risk of corrosion 316L preferred
Price Lower Higher
Choose 316 when:
  • Application is near salt water or coastal areas

  • Exposure to chlorides or de-icing salts

  • Chemical processing environments

  • Maximum corrosion resistance is required

Precision cold rolled stainless steel strip is a narrow, thin-gauge stainless steel product manufactured to significantly tighter thickness and width tolerances than standard cold-rolled sheet. Unlike standard sheet (typically 1000mm or 1219mm wide), precision strip is produced in narrow widths — usually less than 600mm — and thin gauges from 0.05mm up to 3.0mm. The key differentiator is the tolerance : the precision strip holds thickness variations to as low as ±0.005mm,
