ASTM A789 tabung dupleks adalah spesifikasi standar untuk tabung stainless steel duplex tanpa jahitan dan las yang dimaksudkan untuk aplikasi tahan korosi umum dan kekuatan tinggi.Baja tahan karat dupleks menawarkan mikrostruktur austenit-ferrit yang seimbang (sekitar 50% austenit / 50% ferrit), memberikan kekuatan yield sekitar dua kali lipat dari kelas austenit umum seperti 304 atau 316, dikombinasikan dengan ketahanan yang sangat baik terhadap retakan korosi stres klorida (SCC), pengeboran,dan korosi celah.

Tabung-tabung ini banyak digunakan dalam penukar panas, kondensator, jalur instrumentasi, sistem hidrolik, pipa proses, dan eksplorasi minyak & gas,dimana kekuatan dan ketahanan korosi sangat penting.
